Short project description
The project Next Generation in Politics: Youth Representation in V4 Parliaments examines the political representation of younger generations in the national parliaments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia. It focuses on how young politicians enter parliamentary politics, what barriers they face in political recruitment, and how political parties and institutional settings shape their opportunities for representation.
Through comparative data collection and interviews, the project will map the profiles, political careers, and experiences of young MPs across the V4 countries. It will also explore how young parliamentarians understand their political role and whether generational representation brings distinct perspectives into parliamentary politics.
Beyond research, the project connects academics, students, and young people across the V4 region through workshops, public lectures, youth-oriented activities, policy papers, and a comparative dataset. The project aims to contribute to a better understanding of generational representation and to support more inclusive political participation and recruitment in Central Europe.
